Hello my name is Cris.
I am a stay at home/homeschooling mother of 4 beautiful children/and a new homesteader. I have been married to my husband since spring 2001 and love every minute of it. I was born and raised in the city but always wanted to move to a small town with enough land to have a garden and horses. In 2007 my husband made that dream for me come true. We moved over 300 miles away from the city and live in the middle of no where literally, closest small town (with an actual grocery) store is 45 mins away. My husband still works in the city so he is gone for a chunk of the week but at the same time he gets long weekends most of the time.

- The Word--I will be sharing bible studies I come across that I like, I was raised going to church and do believe in Jesus Christ and know he is my KING but living so far from other believers my walk with God has faltered. I want to share some of my walk in case there are others that are having the same trouble in theirs.
- Homesteading--I have learned wasn't as easy as I had planned. I have learned that pipes can freeze/break and that planting/caring for a garden isn't nearly as easy as the books make it seem. Putting up the food is very time intensive but when you open that jar of fresh spaghetti sauce with ingredients from veggies you grew it becomes so worth it!
- Homeschooling-- I will be sharing homeschooling ideas I have found, it's all stuff we either use or have used. I am a relaxed homeschooler and I don't use a fancy curriculum. Most of my children's learning is thru doing, we study random stuff based on what the kids want to learn and if its hard we stay on it for as many months as it takes. A lot of what I will be posting is Unit Studies or Lapbooking ideas since that is what works best for my kids.
I call my home Serenity and I find that it is fitting after looking up the definition:
